Halliwell Country Inn is near Curry’s Post - a nearly two century old building, was built as a fortified homestead and estimated to have been completed in 1837 – that’s 182 years old ! With 1 metre thick stone walls and positioned on a historic wagon trail into the interior, this pristine site was well chosen with exceptional, uninterrupted views of the Karkloof Valley. With a year-long water spring feeding the hotel, the expansive lawns are a perfect base to relax and enjoy incredible history while enjoying modern luxury. Forests, birdlife and natural game ensure a superb offering of romance and solitude with exclusive presence.
Each room boasts incredible space with its own open fireplace to keep warm in the chilly evenings – and wood is supplied so you don’t even have to take an axe.
If you enjoy historic and unique venues, this one is not to be missed !
